Mario collaborates as an assistant on choreographic projects, alongside performing in various works. Matthew and Mario have been working together since 2020.

Originally from Italy, Mario trained at Vic Ballet Academy in Verona before graduating with a First-Class BA (Hons) from Rambert School in London in 2020. During his studies, he worked with renowned choreographers such as Christopher Bruce and presented his own choreography at the Lilian Baylis Studio at Sadler’s Wells. In 2021, he joined VERVE, under the artistic direction of Matthew Robinson, performing works by Botis Seva, Matthew Robinson, Caroline Finn and Barnaby Booth. The following year, he became a company dancer with National Dance Company Wales, touring works by Andrea Costanzo Martini, Marcos Morau, Matthew Robinson and Melanie Lane, among others. Mario joined ŻfinMalta in 2025, performing works by Korsia, Sita Ostheimer, Thick & Tight, and Matthew Robinson.

George H. Wale is an artist, designer and maker based in Abergavenny, South Wales.  Their practice spans costume design, sculpture and performance, working on commissions in collaboration with choreographers as well as on their own independent projects. George’s costume design is graphic, concept driven and heavily informed by their background in movement and training in the visual arts.  George’s work has been platformed by organisations such as g39, Chapter Arts Centre and National Dance Company Wales. Their costume work has been part of programmes that have toured nationally and internationally to leading institutions and festivals of dance.

Emma and Matthew have known each other since the start of Matthew’s professional career, meeting at Scottish Dance Theatre. A trusted collaborator, Emma has designed lighting for numerous works by Matthew.

Emma Jones is a Lighting Designer based in Scotland, UK.  She has a passion for lighting dance and has had the great privilege of working with Birmingham Royal Ballet, Danza Contemporanea de Cuba, National Dance Company Wales, Curious Seed, Shaper Caper, Solene Weinachter Dance, Charlotte McLean and Collaborators, Rob Heaslip, Robbie Synge, Farah Saleh,  Matthew Robinson, Joan Cleville Dance and has worked extensively with Scottish Dance Theatre lighting over 20 new works over the past 15 years including work by Damien Jalet, Botis Seva and Anton Lachky.

Emma is an Associate Artist with shotput dance theatre.
